Slope Stabilisation Works, Rockhampton, QLD
Description
As a result of monsoonal rain and tropical cyclones in 2010/11, the road network in Central Queensland sustained unprecedented damage. This project was part of the repair and rehabilitation of the road network. The repairs included stabilisation of four slopes in the Gladstone and Rockhampton region along with Gladstone to Benaraby Rd, Rockhampton to Yeppoon Road and the Western Yeppoon and Emu Park Road.
Works
The contract involved:
- Scaling, rock anchoring, rockfall mesh
- Environmental slope matting
- Shotcrete and drainage works

- Traffic Control – under high traffic flow conditions
Our Management
The site team was divided into two crews to manage program timeframes within the program were achieved. Ongoing consultation with the client addressed design issues on a few of the slopes that were overcome with a good result.
