Dorrigo Mountain Slip Repair
Description
The Waterfall Way is a 191km road between Bellingen and Dorrigo, beside the Bellingen River, in the Dorrigo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage, National Heritage and State Heritage listed area. The steep narrow road is a tourist link and used also by logging trucks.
CivilTeam was awarded the contract to repair major road damage at a number of locations, after a major rain event in the area.

- Difficult access in an unstable environment
- Majority of works undertaken at night
- Traffic Management on a narrow worksite
- Community Liaison
Our Management
The project area at each landslip site was extremely limited, requiring careful choice of plant and equipment. All sites required additional safety management including significant fencing around works and a safety- rope system to minimise risk to the crew.
Ongoing embankment instability issues required CivilTeam to contract specialist piling contractors to ensure strict safety, quality and environmental controls were maintained on site.
Value Adding
CivilTeam’s planning and management of works, and the use of a piling platform, reduced the transfer loads away from both crest and newly installed piles, increasing productivity by reducing mobilisation between works.
