Construction of 9.8km of Rising Main Pipeline

Description

This project on behalf of the Moree Shire Council and was part of the Moree Artesian Spa Effluent Project – Rising Main.

Council was faced with the issue of no longer being permitted to discharge effluent from the Artesian Spa Baths in Moree into the river.

The 9.8km of rising main and associated works traversed the town of Moree.

Works

  • Supply and installation of 9.8km of 100/150/200 dia OPVC rising main pipeline
  • Design and construction of collection tank and pump house
  • Installation and commissioning of pumps, alarms and control panels
  • Rail and road underbores

Challenges

  • Working within urban environment, impacting on businesses and residents
  • Working around multiple live services, many of which were not correctly marked

Our Management

Forward planning and site management ensured exceptional progress - 500 to 600m of pipe laid per day.

Weekend rosters minimising disruption to businesses. Extensive advance potholing enabled the site team to avoid incidents or delays due to poorly marked services— Telstra and water.

Value Adding

At this time Narrabri Coal Operations were planning to construct Stage 2 of the Namoi Pipeline and Pump Stations.

Their representatives inspected the site works and impressed with our methodology and work standards s invited us to tender for their project.

CivilTeam subsequently won that $2.3m contract - Project 30.
