Removal of Manyweathers Weir
Description
This project was part of a national initiative aimed at improving fish migration at coastal weir and road crossing barriers.
This contract required the removal of Manyweathers Weir in the Richmond River, Casino, NSW. The works involved removal of the weir and supporting structures, disposal of material, and to restore the waterway to a more natural condition.
Works
- Demolition of Manyweathers Weir to the level of footings
- Removal of all rubbish, debris, rubble, stockpiled materials, hazardous substances, and other items not salvaged or preserved
- Salvage of a a one meter wide memorial section of weir and relocating it to the Council Works Depot

Our Management
CivilTeam worked closely with the client and relevant authorities including Dept of Fisheries to manage all environmental impact on the Richmond River.
Major safety precautions were adhered to, as work was conducted within water up to 8 hours a day.
