Goonyella, System Three Feeder Stations
Description
This project was part of Queensland Rail’s infrastructure redevelopment to increase the capacity of the Goonyella Rail System - Australia’s largest export coal rail network at that time.
This component of the project included three new feeder stations at Bolingbroke, Balook, and Black Mountain near Sarina, QLD.
The works in the contract included bulk earthworks, road works, drainage, conduit placement, earthing, and the construction of concrete foundations for switch rooms, transformers and retaining walls.

This contract involved numerous variations due to constant design modifications by the main contractor. CivilTeam minimised construction delays by establishing regular communication with the client and adjusting the works program as needed. In this way we successfully completed the works on time.
Value Adding
All variations were completed within the projected time frame, minimising costs to the client.
CivilTeam maintained a high standard of workmanship throughout this project, which contributed to securing further works with Queensland Rail - Project 20.
