Toowoomba Aerodrome
Description
CivilTeam was awarded the contract to undertake runway and apron upgrade works at the Toowoomba Aerodrome to accommodate larger aircraft and attract major airlines.
This project included extending and resealing the existing runway 11/29, extending and widening the parallel taxiway, and extending the apron a short distance to improve clearances between parked aircraft.
The runway lighting system was upgraded, making this airport the only regional airport in Australia at the time with a runway completely lit by LEDs.

- Flooding in the Toowoomba catchment in January 2011 affected material supplies.

The complex programming placed an unprecedented demand on local suppliers and subcontractors. CivilTeam established a good working relationship with all suppliers and base contractors and addressed supply and quality issues quickly to complete works in the allocated number of weeks.
